High Speed Laser Blanking

Conventional Blanking is a mechanical cutting process in which shapes are cut out of metal strips/coils by punching. A punch presses the material into a die to create the desired shape. The high production speed is ideal for large series.

Laser Blanking uses laser technology to cut sheet metal. The laser beam melts material along a contour in a very narrow area. The melted area is expelled by a constant flow of inert gas, resulting in a precise cut that is gentle on the material. This method offers high precision for complex shapes and enables quick design changes without tool changes. It also reduces material loss through efficient use.

High Speed Laser Blanking combines the precision and flexibility of laser blanking with a higher output of blanks that almost matches that of conventional blanking. This method reduces costs: as no part-specific tools are required, storage and maintenance costs are reduced; cycle times are also reduced and flexibility is increased. Software-supported optimal nesting and precise cutting technology also reduce material consumption. This also leads to resource-saving production and thus reduces CO2 emissions.
